python-rdkit software package provides Collection of cheminformatics and machine-learning software, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-rdkit
python-rdkit is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-rdkit package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-rdkit *
You will get with python-rdkit package name, version, architecture and description in a table
